WoWSkiTours was conceived as a Women Only Solo Skiers holiday company several years ago, one snowy afternoon skiing in the Italian Dolomites.

I remember the moment well, the name popped up out of the blue...Women Only Weeks ..WOW! It seemed to encapsulate the concept.

The ski market is rammed with an assortment of opportunities for Boys’ Ski trips; in fact, if you are a skier, an annual trip with ‘the lads’ is almost a rite of passage, but in stark contrast, there is almost nothing on offer for solo women skiers to do the same.

Added to that, on the occasions I had seen men and women skiing together, partners, husbands and wives, it was obvious that the dynamic between them just didn’t work, unless both were equally proficient skiers.

In general, the men wanted to bomb, fast and furious, regardless of technique. The women wanted to ski, but with a little more caution, a little more focus on the ‘how’ and ‘ wow, look at the view’, with unjudged moments taken for coffees and loo breaks and photo stops, moments to consider the terrain or think about where to make that vital first turn.

In short, the boys just did, while the women over thought.

Why not then, we concluded, create a ski product for solo women skiers that THEY could own, that had all those factors us women need and value built in?

And that is how WoWSkiTours was born.

WoWSkiTours principal ski playground is the much mightier than you can possibly imagine, breathtaking beauty of the Italian Dolomites, specifically the gorgeous Alta Badia, where we ourselves have grown up skiing and living over the last 20 years.

The 1200 Kms of groomed to perfection pistes, spread over 12 individual ski areas, each one a ‘resort’ in it’s own right and having it’s own flavour and charm, are known collectively as The Dolomiti Superski. The area is the quintessence of ‘Italianess’. The sun shines, the scenery is vast and spectacular, there are World Cup downhills, Hidden Valleys, ice gorges, horse drawn ski tows. The on and off slope food is outstanding, served in gorgeous wooden rifugi dotted round the mountains.

Here we run our weekly ‘pleasure’ trips. This is the dream ski holiday. Staying in a supremely elegant 4* hotel right by the lifts, each WoW week comprises 6 days of daily itineraries, a sort of sightseeing on skis, accompanied by a ski guide and instructor, taking in the Best of The Best of the Jolly Dollies. Trust us, you’ll be blown away.

Our second venue, and in collaboration with Sommet et Neige Ski School, takes place in peaceful, unpretentious NENDAZ, tucked within the majesty of the famous Swiss 4 Vallées. It’s a wonderful area for those looking for a more demanding ski week, which is why we reserve this area specifically for ski training and instruction, in what we call our Academy Performance Weeks.

These weeks get down to the nitty gritty of ski technique itself, the physics of how we move on those pesky planks of wood, and are aimed at ladies who want to improve their ski knowledge for this and future ski trips. We offer a lower intermediate/ upper intermediate, and controlled off piste option.

Both types of week are completely handheld and aim to take care of every detail of your ski holiday so that your solo ski experience is easy and relaxed.

A few weeks before your departure, we set up a WhatsApp chat group so you can get to know your fellow ladies before you arrive. You can break the ice, exchange banter and travel plans,share queries or ask us questions. By the time you hop aboard your private transfer, you’ll realise you are no longer a ‘solo’, but part of a blossoming group of Ski buddies, and potentially the beginnings of a new set of pals.

As part of the package, we provide 3* and 4* accommodation with half-board and spa, centrally located next to lifts, a maximum group size of 8, guiding and/or ski instruction, and a bellyful of banter, bad jokes and giggles. We also give you ample time for a little retail and aperitivi. And we at WoW are always on hand to iron out any issues or personal requests.
